A Journey of Purpose: The Story Behind Impact Scents
- Impact Scents didn’t begin in a lab or a high-end boutique—it was born during a season of isolation, on my couch during the quiet solitude of a global pandemic. Like many, I found myself disconnected from the people, places, and experiences that had always fueled my passion for travel and adventure. Staying in one place was challenging for someone who had always thrived on exploring the world.
- That’s when fragrance became my escape. I began purchasing colognes from across the globe, hoping that with each spray, I could transport myself to a distant land. Whether it was the fresh, citrusy air of the Amalfi Coast or the deep, woody richness of a forest in Ireland, fragrance became my passport. Sitting with an espresso in my office, I’d close my eyes and let the scent carry me to places I could no longer visit.
- What began as a personal escape turned into something more profound. Over the course of four years, my collection grew to nearly 200 bottles, each representing a different memory, a new adventure, or a place that left a mark on my soul. But my story doesn’t stop there.
- I was also searching for natural ways to care for my skin, steering away from the endless list of chemicals found in most products. That’s when the idea hit me: What if I could combine my love for travel and fragrance with a mission to create something pure and meaningful? Impact Scents was born from this desire—to craft fragrances that honor God’s creation, using natural oils sourced from the regions I’ve visited and blending them into proprietary formulas.
- At Impact Scents, fragrance is more than just a scent—it’s a journey of faith, an experience rooted in purpose, and a way to honor the beauty of God’s world. Each fragrance is carefully handcrafted to transport you to new cultures, faraway lands, and the heart of adventure. Whether you’re imagining the spice-filled streets of Barcelona or the sacred deserts of Israel, every scent tells a story of faith, beauty, and discovery.
A Story Rooted in Faith and Family
- Impact Scents isn’t just about travel; it’s about family and purpose. Eleven years ago, my wife Aimee and I adopted four siblings, a life-changing experience that ignited a passion for making a difference. Our story is deeply connected to our faith and the desire to support children in need, which is why a portion of every purchase goes to Compassion International, helping children around the world.
- As the Fragrance Creator, I draw inspiration from the diverse cultures and scents I’ve encountered on my travels. But beyond travel, my greatest inspiration comes from my family. Each fragrance we create carries a part of our story:
- My Wife, Aimee, inspires scents that embody elegance, strength, and grace.
- My Eldest, a leader with boldness, inspires captivating fragrances with presence and depth.
- My Youngest, brings fun and excitement, qualities found in bold scents.
- My Middle, full of energy and playfulness, inspires lively and adventurous fragrances.
- My Daughter, reflects creativity and grace, beautifully captured in elegant floral scents.
A Legacy of Love
- Impact Scents is also a tribute to those we’ve loved and lost. My father was my rock—his unwavering support shaped who I am today. Although he tragically passed away in a car accident just a week before my 13th birthday, his influence remains a guiding light in everything I do.
- I also owe much of who I am to Dee Dee, who loved me as her own. Her kindness and nurturing spirit continue to inspire the care and love we put into every fragrance. Though we lost her too soon to cancer, her legacy lives on through the purpose and passion behind our brand.
- Our fragrances are more than just products—they are stories of love, family, faith, and the journeys that shape us. Each bottle is handcrafted in small batches using the highest quality ingredients, and every purchase helps support adoption and global missions, continuing the legacy of love and care.
Thank you for joining us on this journey of impact and purpose, where faith, fragrance, and adventure come together to create something truly special—one adventurous fragrance at a time.
My personal memories.
- Flying into Dublin marked the beginning of a God-ordained adventure. The crisp morning air and heavy Irish accents welcomed me as if it were all planned from above. The cobblestone streets were damp with morning dew, and every step felt like a new chapter waiting to be written. A friendly lunch at a cozy restaurant blossomed into a lifelong friendship, and in that moment, I knew this journey would be one of significance.
- Having visited London multiple times, its charm never fades. Strolling through the grandeur of Harrods, savoring the warmth of pasties, listening to angelic choirs at St. Martins-in-the-Fields, and sipping afternoon tea in its historic halls—it’s a city of timeless elegance. The thrill of watching Phantom of the Opera in the West End filled my senses with both awe and inspiration.
- The serene streets of Haarlem hold a piece of history forever etched in my heart. Taking the short train ride from Amsterdam, I found myself in a town brimming with bicycles and tulips. But it was the visit to Corrie Ten Boom’s watchmaker’s shop—where lives were hidden during World War II—that left an indelible mark on my soul. Standing in “the hiding place,” I could hardly imagine the courage it took to hide from unspeakable horrors in such a small space.
- Rome was another adventure of history and wonder. Walking down ancient streets, catching sight of the Colosseum, tossing a coin into the Trevi Fountain, and eating gelato in the shadow of the Vatican, the eternal city was full of life, hustle, and history waiting to be rediscovered.
- On the Côte d'Azur, I found tranquility among the vibrant blue waters of the French Riviera. Staying in an old town apartment in Nice, just steps away from the square, I could feel the sun warming my skin as the waves gently rolled in the shore. The weight of life seemed to disappear as the Mediterranean breeze swept away all of my stress. Monaco was only a short train ride away!
- In Barcelona, life moved slowly as I stayed like a local in a quaint apartment. Early mornings meant espressos at unknown cafés, while the streets awakened to the bustling life of the city. The joy of buying groceries at street-side shops, despite language barriers, brought a sense of playful wonder to every interaction and who could forget Antonio Gouda's impact!
- The Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic holds special memories of ministry and connection. After a train ride from Prague, I found myself in the village of Jesenik on a missions trip with Pastor Adam. We met people from all walks of life, spreading faith and hope. The abundance of food and desserts was too much.
- In Tuscany, my wife and I wandered through Florence, crossing the Ponte Vecchio and marveling at the statue of David. We dined on a hillside patio, the rolling hills of Tuscany spreading before us like a painting—each moment felt amazing.
- Brussels brought a simpler joy—standing in the Grand Place eating fries with mayonnaise and marveling at the intricate beauty of the surrounding architecture. Wandering the winding back streets, I could only wonder what stories lay behind every corner.
- In Belfast, I was struck by its resilience. Arriving during the Christmas season, I felt the warmth of the city as we walked through festive markets and sampled new treats. C.S. Lewis and the Titanic may have been born here, but its future is as bright as its past is heavy.
- My many trips to Paris have created a love-hate relationship with the city, but for a fragrance lover, Paris is the pinnacle. I recall one memorable trip when I tried to surprise my wife by booking a hotel, only to find ourselves in the “red district.” Since then, she’s been the hotel selector. Yet, sitting in cafés, sipping espresso, and savoring banana-Nutella crepes along the Seine always brings a sense of Parisian magic.
- In Israel, my faith came alive as I stood on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus walked and performed 60% of his miracles. Floating effortlessly in the Dead Sea felt like being cradled by the earth itself. For me, as a Christian, this was the most profound trip of all.
